Significant updates have been made to ExpressionEngine 7.4, such as improved member management, the addition of new CLI commands, updates to channel forms, and the integration of Redactor X as a new Rich Text Editor (RTE) field type.

Member Management

Major improvements have been made to member-related features in version 7.4. The entry manager's structure is now more closely resembled in the redesigned member management system. Members now have access to advanced sorting and searching options because of this redesign. Also, a new Member field type that allows relationships to be created between entries and members has been introduced.

ExpressionEngine has implemented new and upgraded member template tag options, as well as combined custom fields among members!

Rich Text Editor (RTE)

Version 7.4 includes a significant update to the Rich Text Editor (RTE), which now offers an improved user experience with the addition of Redactor X. This new option is highly customizable, feature-packed, and offers a smooth WYSIWYG editor. Additionally, a wide range of editing contexts are available for users to choose from.

Command Line Interface (CLI)

We also used this chance to add two new commands to the Command Line Interface (CLI), developing it even more.

Using the CLI, you can reindex your content for search with the first command. A useful addition to any website that updates or imports content from sources other than the ExpressionEngine control panel regularly.

You can link the files stored in a specified upload directory with the file records in the database by using the second command. As part of the process, you can also decide what to do with your preset file manipulations.
